What is a Yarn Tour?
It’s a three-month knitting event with three virtual shows, swag at every stop, and a community of groupies that will inspire you and make you laugh at every turn.
Good Vibes Yarn Tour Fall 2021
In the fall of 2021 our Good Vibes tour bus (virtually) sought out the music scenes in New Orleans, Detroit and Southern California.
Our 1st stop was New Orleans, aka The Crescent City. Our project was an easy-breasy crescent shawl with a keen edge, just like NOLA. Great for a rode trip: there is plenty of time to just cruise along and then something exciting to keep you interested. During the show we got to talk with Lisa from Feederbrook Farm about her sheep and mill and the inspiration behind her tour-exclusive colorway inspired by the streets of New Orleans.
In Detroit, the home of Motown, we went behind the scenes with the creator of M1 yarns, snacked on chocolate-covered Michigan cherries, and made the Someday We'll Be cowl inspired by Diana Ross and the Supremes while groovin’ to tunes on our new Good Vibes Bluetooth Speakers.
All three boxes had scrumptious snacks and sophisticated swag, but I think the jigsaw puzzle included in the box for our last stop might have been everyone's favorite.
The project was lovely as well. Close your eyes and picture the wind in your hair, the salt of the sea air, and the sound of the surf as you cruise Route 1 with the top down, the Beach Boys blasting on the radio. If the air is chilly, wrap up in Route 1, a rectangular wrap evoking the waves and winding roads of sunny southern Cali.
Between stops, we traded tips, shopped for souvenirs with our 20% off coupons, and made new friends in our Facebook group.
